l'estate sta finendo... e allora servono coaching e creatività
for those who lived through the eighties, remember this chorus of Righeira. "The summer is ending .." many as usual, good intentions, money, work, sports, love, friends, culture, museums, and so on and so forth ....
Thoughts like these can give us the right motivation to start again from September in the best way, or do nothing but intensify the sense of pressure that is so bad many of us live in an era in which we are doing is running and where, especially at work, is required to perform many activities together, often overlapping. semrpe but is the fault of others, or are we sometimes sabotage themselves in some way?
Corriere della Sera has published an interesting article and scirtto by Maurizio Ferrera, echoing the results of a survey conducted University of Oxford and directed by Robert Goodin ('Discretionary Time', Oxford University Press) on the issue of time poverty syndrome.
Ferrera is what tells us about the "time poverty" based on the search for Goodin:
"According to recent research conducted by Robert Goodin ('Discretionary Time', Oxford University Press), the syndrome of time pressure is largely the result of individual decisions that drive us to do much more than it would be necessary. The authors of the volume come to this conclusion after a series of calculations. First, they estimated the hours of "work" that are indispensable for today lead a dignified life, but without pretensions: paid work outside the home, housework (including child care), and work for self care. Were then measured (using the so-called time use survey) the time actually used by people for these three types of activities.
The discrepancy is very large: on average an adult European or American devotes to paid work (the so-called career) and domestic work (including children) twice as long as "necessary" and about 25% more time for care of themselves. If we were less ambitious or less of a perfectionist, the time of assessment "at our disposal would amount about 80 hours per week, a total of 168. Instead we must be content with just thirty hours, if all goes well. Obviously the amount of 'discretionary time' is changed along the life cycle, including in relation to family situation. When you have children, the available time is reduced drastically, as increasing the hours are essential to their care. Given the persistent asymmetry in the division of labor between fathers and mothers, they are then systematically disadvantaged, especially if employed. The data indicate that single mothers are divorced and those social figures far more constrained in the use of their time of life. The winning picture is rather the so-called family Dink (double income, no kids ): marito e moglie entrambi in carriera, senza figli.
